Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for the position of Associate Athletic Director. This position assists the Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation with meeting the goals of a top-level athletics department with effective management; as well as illustrating positive influence on the student-athletes, fans, and University community. This individual will connect with campus and community leaders to design strategic partnerships for University Athletics. This individual will serve as the Compliance Director for the Athletics Department. AA/

● Proficient using social media and technology.
● A bachelor’s degree is required (master’s degree strongly preferred) with at least 3-5 years of related experience.

This student-centered position requires a significant amount of night and weekend hours.

1. Assist the Director in planning and executing a variety of strategic plans, initiatives, and activities.
Assist with the administrative management of the athletic programs including day-to-day oversight of several areas within the athletics department.
Responsible for primary oversight of academic counseling and development of student-athletes. Consulting with coaches on student-athlete academic progress, and communicating with administrators in both the Department of Athletics and campus units in student-athlete matters.
Responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the mental, physical, and holistic well-being of the Xavier student-athletes. With focus areas on mental performance and mental health, sports medicine, and sports performance (strength and conditioning, etc.).
Responsible for developing and advising the Association of Student Athletes, which serves as the voice of all XULA student-athletes.
Manage procurement and purchasing services and policies of the athletics department.
Assist in coordinating planning, promoting, and managing athletic and some campus events.
Hire and supervise student office and event staff.
Serve as the primary contact for the NAIA’s Champions of Character program and Compliance Director.
Comply with NAIA, conference, and Xavier University rules, regulations, and policies.
Other special projects and duties as assigned. |
