The Associate Athletic Director for Broadcasting & Multimedia strategy is a vital leadership role within Dartmouth Athletics that drives the department’s mission to excel in all forms of digital media by spearheading innovative broadcasting and multimedia strategies. This position will be responsible for elevating the visibility, engagement, and fan experience for Dartmouth Athletics through cutting-edge multimedia content, strategies and broadcasting excellence.
Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 year’s experience in a video production environment focused on sports, preferably college athletics. Bachelor’s degree in video production or related field or appropriate combination of education and experience Strong familiarity with a variety of video equipment for live productions, Proficient with non-linear editing and design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator), Final Cut Pro or other similar video editing program. Excellent creative and organizational skills. Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with a broad range of staff members and off-campus partners.
Master’s degree in video production. Knowledge of position related NCAA, Ivy League, and Dartmouth College rules and regulations.

Key Accountabilities
Multimedia Strategy & Brand Development Develop and execute a comprehensive multimedia strategy aligned with the goals and mission of Dartmouth Athletics. Ensure that the strategy reflects the department’s values and vision for enhancing its digital presence. Oversee the creation of engaging multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, graphics, social media assets, and other digital materials. Determine the most effective channels and platforms for distributing multimedia content. Optimize the use of the department’s website, social media, email campaigns, and other digital outlets to maximize reach and engagement. Develop and implement communication plans to effectively convey Dartmouth Athletics’ brand story, values, and messaging to the target audience. Ensure that all multimedia content, digital campaigns, and other communications align with the established brand identity and messaging. Collaborate with sports specific communication leads to ensure production cohesion.

Broadcasting Excellence Oversee and coordinate the production of live broadcasts for Dartmouth Athletics events, ensuring top-tier quality in terms of video, audio, and commentary. (ESPN, Conference and Ivy League). Ensuring that video quality meets broadcast standards of ESPN and Ivy League. Lead and manage a team of broadcasters, camera operators, technicians, and support staff, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and coordinated to deliver exceptional broadcasts. Over 100+ live events annually. Maintain and enhance technical capabilities related to broadcasting, including camera equipment, video editing software, and streaming platforms, to ensure the highest production standards are met. Develop and manage a broadcasting schedule that covers a wide range of Dartmouth Athletics events to maximize fan engagement and coverage. Liaison between ESPN and Dartmouth to ensure that preferred production style by ESPN is taught to staff and freelance workers.

Digital Content Creation Oversee the creation and production of diverse and engaging digital content, including videos, podcasts, graphics, social media posts, articles, and other multimedia assets. Develop and maintain an editorial calendar that outlines content creation schedules and themes, ensuring consistency and alignment with key events and season. Craft compelling and authentic stories that highlight the achievements, personalities, and values of Dartmouth Athletics teams, athletes, and staff. Collaborate with various departments, including Marketing and Communications, to coordinate multimedia content efforts and ensure a cohesive approach to branding and messaging.

Fan Engagement Develop strategies to enhance the overall fan experience, both in-person and through digital channels, ensuring that fans have memorable and enjoyable interactions with Dartmouth Athletics. Establish effective communication channels to keep fans informed about upcoming events, news, promotions, and other relevant information related to Dartmouth Athletics.
