| Job Summary/Basic Function |
Reporting to the Vice President of University Advancement and under co-leadership of the Athletic Director, the Associate AD for Development will work with members of the athletic department to achieve fundraising goals and engage alumni and community constituents in ongoing activities. This includes leveraging key relationships and contacts to ensure that fundraising goals are met. Focusing principally on major gifts ($35 ,000+), the Associate AD will cultivate and nurture relationships with former student-athletes, community philanthropists and university alumni with a passion for Wildcat athletics. In addition, they will cultivate relationships with current and potential corporate and foundation donors. The Associate AD will be responsible for the management of the athletics sub-campaign of the Amplify Comprehensive Campaign for Weber State, including coordination of donor/prospect cultivation toward major gifts. The Associate AD will work closely with the Athletic Director on major and planned gift proposals and will be responsible for generating related gift agreements. They will also be involved in the development and management of the Wildcat Club board in cooperation with the Wildcat Club Director with whom the Associate AD will also work together on all aspects of fundraising.

Professional experience in intercollegiate athletics

Preferred:
3 years experience in NCAA DI athletics fund raising.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to accurately and comprehensively document donor/prospect interaction.
Superior interpersonal skills.
Ability to be self-disciplined, dependable and accountable. High energy, positive, “can do” attitude, flexible, professional.
High degree of initiative and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as a team with a variety of colleagues and philanthropic partners.
Ability to work with, manage and motivate volunteers for assistance with identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors.
Willingness to work nights and weekends and travel for opportunities to engage constituents around Weber State athletics events .
Passionate for the role that athletics plays in the cultural development of a university and a community.
