This position is responsible for the development and implementation of social media and digital content strategies, including the generation of high-quality creative content to engage the Athletics fan base. This position is also responsible for the continuous process of improving and adopting new communications and engagement strategies as appropriate. This position is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining dynamic content that creates revenue and amplifies the Ohio Athletics brand via engaging storytelling, strategic communications management and all forms of external communications.
Administer and implement the digital content across OhioBobcats.com and social media platforms by guiding the team to ideate, create, and design content. Monitor current trends in digital and social media to identify best practices. Oversee, delegate and manage the workflow and assignments of creative content design staff members. Regularly evaluate, set goals and identify areas of improvement. Supervise the development of in-venue creative content. Provide quality control for all digital assets.
Plan, develop, and direct the athletic department creative services including graphics and digital content (e.g., photography and video), in order to amplify Ohio Athletics and engage a broad range of external audiences.
Create and maintain dynamic content that strategically enhances the Athletics brand in external communications. Ensure consistent image and identification with the brand across all communications efforts. Oversee sports communications operations, including game summaries, sports media relations and executive communications. Serve as liaison to campus communications units (as needed).
Track and apply digital analytics for revenue generation. Collaborate with other Athletics revenue-generating units to determine return of investment of external revenue generation initiatives.
Serve as sport administrator for assigned varsity sport(s).
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of three (3) years of communications, content creation, storytelling and/or digital strategies experience.
Management experience.
Master’s degree
ICA Athletic Communication
Commensurate with education and experience.
