In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, collaboratively leads all NIL efforts for DePaul Athletics, including but not limited to: education, strategy and growth, compliance and policy implementation, marketing, and trend analysis within the guidelines of federal and state laws, as well as NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, and DePaul University policies. The role will host monthly NIL strategy discussions with key leaders within the athletics department to coordinate and advance NIL efforts. The role will maintain a focus on innovation, growth, and organizational change management to allow DePaul Athletics to be positioned ahead of the industry on NIL efforts.
What You'll Do:
In partnership with the Executive Associate AD for Development and Director of Sponsorship Sales, build relationships and educate business leaders, donors, corporate partners, and other constituents on the evolving NIL landscape of intercollegiate athletics. Build relationships with these constituents and support fundraising efforts within the guidelines of Illinois state law, the NCAA, and DePaul’s Institutional NIL Policy.
Serve as the main liaison to DePaul’s officially endorsed NIL collectives, consulting firms, and outside entities that partner with DePaul Athletics in the NIL space.
Collaborate with the Associate AD for NCAA Compliance to provide rules education opportunities around NIL to coaches and staff. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and NCAA policies around NIL, in addition to DePaul’s Institutional NIL Policy. Regularly brief coaches, staff, and senior university administration on the latest NIL news and trends.
Collaborate with the Associate AD for Merchandise and Licensing to co-lead initiatives in the merchandise and licensing space that support NIL efforts, including relationships with Campus Ink/NIL Store and The Brandr Group. Lead the athlete sign-up and implementation process of these initiatives. Work with DePaul Athletics’ External Leadership team to support advertising of these opportunities, in alignment with DePaul’s Institutional NIL Policy.
Collaborate the Senior Associate AD for Marketing & Communications and Associate AD for Communications & Digital Strategy to develop NIL recruiting materials for coaches, in-venue and email marketing materials, maintain DePaul Athletics’ NIL website, and promote new NIL initiatives via DePaul Athletics’ website.
Lead regular 1-on-1 and team meetings with student-athletes to provide education, support, and guidance in the NIL space. Oversee all INFLCR account creation and training for all incoming student-athletes.
Monitor DePaul’s NIL activity and provide regular reporting to ensure pre-determined KPIs are being met, as determined by the Vice President/Director of Athletics, Executive Associate AD for Revenue Generation & Strategic Initiatives, and Executive Associate AD for Development. Knowledge of and adherence to all federal, state, NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, and institutional rules, policies and procedures pertaining to NIL. Attend and participate in regular NCAA rules compliance meetings.
Responsible for a department budget of approximately $20K.

A minimum of five years relevant experience in fundraising, sales, sponsorship, sports marketing/branding, student-athlete development, or similar field.
A minimum of two years relevant experience in NIL-related functions. - Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to respect confidentiality and practice discretion.
This position may require frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 25 pounds; standing up to eight hours each day; and working in all weather conditions.
Able to communicate well in written, oral and interpersonal communication and build rapport quickly with student athletes, faculty, coaches, and staff
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment.

Position requires working evening, weekend, and holiday hours during school year.
