Responsibilities :
The Associate Director of Development reports to the Associate AD/Senior Director of Development and will assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy for all giving activities for the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation (RCAF). The Associate Director will manage a portfolio of major giving and leadership annual giving donors and prospects and is expected to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward those supporters.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strategic, data-driven approach to revenue generation and a successful track record of acquiring, retaining and upgrading donors/members. This position will work closely with the Offices of Athletics, Development, and Advancement Operations to achieve growth in support of the RCAF.
This position will also attend and assist with athletics department games/events, donor events and other department functions as assigned. Will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends throughout the year, as well as travel occasionally.
Job Tasks & Responsibilities
-Manage a portfolio of 150-200 major gift and leadership annual fund prospects, develop effective moves management strategies, and lead prospects through the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycle
-Assist in the execution of a capital project planning, fundraising and implementation, achieving specific goals, performance metrics and budget
-Research and implement industry best practices to create and execute a multidimensional appeal schedule that utilizes a variety of mediums (e.g., electronic/digital solicitations, direct mail appeals, phone, texts, and social media) to communicate with potential and current donors
-Implement segmentation strategies and programs aimed to increase RCAF membership and sustain philanthropic support from individuals and companies
-Analyze data and reports to be successful in identifying new donor segment programs and implementing donor programs
-Advises and assists coaches on sport-specific annual giving fundraising efforts
-Creates reports and systems to support RCAF membership benefit fulfillment schedules; coordinating close with RCAF Donor Relations team
-Maintain accuracy of records through entering contact reports and providing updates to donor database; following data policies and guidelines for requesting reports and use of data

-Actively participate in RCAF and Office of Development staff meetings and retreats
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree
-2+ years in sales/development or university advancement/development
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master's degree
-A strong affinity toward and understanding of intercollegiate athletics, including an interest in enhancing the student-athlete experience
through philanthropy and community engagement
-Excellent computer, verbal and written communication, as well as demonstrated organizational skills necessary
-Superior interpersonal and collaborative skills
-Ability to build/maintain relationships and solicit gifts
-Capable of crafting multichannel solicitation pieces and other professional documentation
-Task-oriented and self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines and work independently or as part of a team
-Ability to both prioritize given assignments and multi-task effectively
-Ability to think critically and exercise sound judgment and decision making
-Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
