Clemson University Athletics is looking for an Associate Director of Athletic Academic Services to fulfill the following duties:
60% - Essential - Academic Coordination and Counseling:
Meets with designated student-athletes individually on a weekly basis. Reviews all appropriate information, such as course syllabi, Canvas and grades. Assists assigned student-athletes in establishing and attaining academic goals. Provides expertise in academic advising by assisting student-athletes with course registration each semester and in the selection of academic majors and/or minors. Facilitates assigning of student-athletes to the appropriate resources for registration and course scheduling. Supports learning specialists and educational services staff to ensure timely and appropriate support is provided to assigned student-athletes.
15% - Essential - Athletic Academic Services Department Support:
Contributes to the Athletic Academic Services department through participation on committees as assigned and collaboration on initiatives to support the student-athlete population.
10% - Essential - New Student On-boarding:
Assists summer school freshmen and mid-year student-athletes in football with transition and acclimation to the University. Ensures participation in orientation sessions, pre-registration, Clemson Connect programming and computer training. Provides orientation to EEE and assists student-athletes in setting academic goals. Assists student-athletes in developing and implementing a graduation plan in the major of their choice, consistent with NCAA eligibility requirements. Ensure all student-athletes participate in Immersion. Ensures each incoming student-athlete is utilizing electronic resources.
10% - Essential - Reporting, Evaluation & Monitoring:
Ensures appropriate student participation in the EEE program and follows reporting guidelines as mandated by the Provost's Manual. Calculates and submits mid-year and year-end academic status reports for assigned sports. Coordinates collection of appropriate information needed to seek NCAA and ACC academic awards for student-athletes. Monitors and communicates to the appropriate personnel assigned student-athletes' NCAA and ACC eligibility, as well as their Clemson University academic standing. Conducts student schedule audit at the conclusion of course registration each semester to ensure NCAA eligibility and progress towards degree/graduation.
5% - Essential - Recruiting:
Assists assigned teams with recruiting prospective student-athletes. Meets with prospects during official and unofficial visits. Assists with academic recruiting presentations for junior day recruiting events. Attends recruiting events during evenings and weekends.
Education - Master's Degree
Work Experience - 1+ Years - Collegiate experience working in academic support in Division 1 Athletics

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

Standard Hours: 40 Hours / Week
Salary Commensurate with Experience
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
