Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Athletics / Head Athletic Trainer of Mount Mary University's NAIA programs is an integral member of the Athletic Department at Mount Mary University and requires an enthusiastic, pro-active, high-energy individual who is determined to see that the Athletics Department goals are met and student-athletes health and safety are prioritized. The primary roles of the Associate Director of Athletics will consist of assisting with department compliance and eligibility supervision serving as the Athletics Compliance Administrator; management of the Caroline Fitness Center and partner with the Exercise Science program on needs of the space, equipment evaluation and budget supervision; and maintain sport supervision over assigned sport program(s). Additionally, as part of their Associate Director of Athletics responsibilities they will collaborate within the Athletics senior leadership team to maintain and strengthen the athletics department in the areas of budgeting, revenue, recruiting, retention and development. The primary roles of the Head Athletic Trainer are to provide comprehensive healthcare services for MMU student-athletes; including injury prevention, clinical evaluation, emergency care, treatment, and rehabilitation of all athletic injuries. The Head Athletic Trainer also plays an active role in education, communication, and the implementation of health and safety protocols while providing a positive and respectful clinical environment for all coaches and athletes. This individual must be committed to the NAIA values through "Character-driven Athletics" where MMU athletics staff embody and teach integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership on and off the field, in addition to the MMU Athletic Department pillars to "Recruit, Retain, and Develop".
The Associate Director of Athletics / Head Athletic Trainer works primarily with the Team physician, athletics staff, FAR, coaches, student-athletes, student workers, admissions staff, faculty and other administrative offices to ensure that each Mount Mary University student-athlete and prospective student-athlete receives a quality experience. This opportunity requires the availability to work a variable schedule. Hours will be determined by mutual agreement with the Director of Athletics and work to best accommodate the needs of the sport programs, along with the Athletics Department. Pre/post season hours likely to be slightly more consistent than in-season hours. Work schedule can vary during peak sports seasons.

Oversee the Caroline Fitness Center (CFC) supervision
Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics, including emergency tasks as needed
Head Athletic Trainer
Daily oversight of the MMU Athletic Training and Sports Medicine department
Attend staff, admissions, athletic conference, and/or institution meetings / events when required
Knowledge of, and adherence to, MMU Athletics Department Coaches and Student-Athlete Handbooks, NAIA and Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference rules / regulations regarding recruiting, eligibility, competition, compliance, etc. and ensure all staff members and student-athletes comply with the same
Assist as needed with management of home athletics events
Promote and encourage a positive learning experience for student-athletes and a commitment to develop the whole person and nurturing bold, brilliant women
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate AT staff including student athletic trainer(s) and interns, and assigned sport program coach if applicable
Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics, including emergency tasks as needed
