Job Description

Missouri Baptist University is looking to hire an Associate Director of Athletics/Head Athletic Trainer. This role is for a full-time administrative professional who provides leadership for Missouri Baptist University’s sports medicine program and reports to the Director of Athletics.He/she is responsible for developing and leading medical care for student-athletes in concurrence with the policies and regulations approved by the Board of Trustees and the practices and procedures of university administration. He/she contributes to the overall health and vitality of the athletics department through strong collaboration with colleagues across campus and through positive participation in departmental projects, tasks and/or operations.

Responsibilities

Administers and oversees the care, prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to all student-athletes to include

  • Planning and coordination of physical examinations and screenings
  • Organize and administer drug testing per university policy
  • Medical care for student athletes per sports medicine standard operating procedures
  • Provide accommodation recommendations, for relevant sport, for athletes with restrictions or limitations
  • Determination of return to play for student athletes with advice from physician if needed
  • Maintains electronic medical records of all patient encounters in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Coordinate and implement injury prevention and rehabilitation programs for student athletes with advice from physician if needed
  • Communicate with physician and coaches regarding student athlete injury status
  • Assist visiting athletic teams with medical accommodations and services as needed
    Responsible for onsite (practices and home events) care and management of injuries/illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of student athletes
