Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Laurentian Engagement and Annual Giving (
LEAG
), the Associate Director of
LEAG
is responsible for all athletic engagement and fundraising (non-major gift level). In partnership with Athletic Department staff, they are charged with developing an athletics supporter club comprised of alumni representatives for its Division
III
and non-divisional teams in order to drive engagement, mentorship, and philanthropy. The Associate Director, who will serve as a primary campus liaison for both this Club as well as the Division I Hockey Alumni Association, will work with coaches and volunteers on athletic-dedicated fundraising initiatives and projects, including appeals, giving challenges, etc. They will also plan, coordinate and staff strategic athletic-affinity events both on- and off-campus, and as a volunteer management expert, will help manage at least one Reunion milestone annually.
Duties/Responsibilities
(50%) In partnership with the Executive Director, manage a general athletics Club and the Hockey Alumni Association.
This includes:
Recruiting, engaging, soliciting, and stewarding members of the athletic volunteer organizations.
Planning and executing on-campus meetings and events, including
HAA
meetings, Legends of Appleton, and athletics supporter club meetings and events.
Developing a strategic solicitation plan for Saints alumni and families, including donor challenges and special initiatives. A blend of both budget relief and budget enhancement fundraising is expected.
Coordinate strategic priorities with major gift staff, including restricted current-use, endowment and capital support.
In partnership with the Executive Director of Laurentian Engagement and Annual Giving, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of alumni and parents for leadership-level gifts annually.
In partnership with the Senior Associate Director of Laurentian Engagement and Annual Giving, develop, implement, and evaluate a strategic plan to increase the number of athletics donors.
(25%) Plan and staff both on- and off-campus athletic events as assigned, while traveling to meet with Laurentian donors, prospects, and volunteers.
(15%) Manage at least one Reunion milestone celebration annually as well the annual Athletics Hall of Fame events during the weekend.
This includes recruiting volunteers, serving as a primary contact, and participating in the weekend’s events.
(10%) Perform other duties as assigned to support University Advancement’s goals and objectives.
An undergraduate degree is required.
Three years minimum experience in fundraising, higher education, athletics, alumni relations, or a similar field preferred.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Proficiency in The Raiser’s Edge preferred.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, build effective relationships, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to develop strong relationships with Laurentians with the highest degree of professionalism.
A willingness to travel frequently and to work some evenings and weekends.
Salary Range $58,459 - $60,000 annually
