JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of the Associate Director for Outdoor Programs and Leadership is to provide leadership and supervision for the Outdoor Center operations and student-led adventure-based off campus experiences. This includes training and mentoring student trip leaders, onboarding and maintaining a robust field instructor community, managing the weekend trip program, coordinating SPOT (adventure based new student pre-orientation program), and providing direct supervision for the Manager of the Outdoor Center and the Coordinator of Experiential Programs. This position will hold a teaching specialist title within the DAPER Academic Program and teach within the OUTDOOR academic portfolio.

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that their involvement with Athletic Department activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA and ACC rules and regulations.
The expected pay range for this position is $90,000-93,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
