General Information:
James Madison University, a Division 1 Member of the NCAA and Sun Belt Conference, is seeking an Associate Director of Sports Medicine. This position is a 12-month position with a full comprehensive benefits package. Only current members of the JMU- Sports Medicine team are eligible to apply for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise two (2) Associate Level Athletic Trainers. Including but not limited to, mandatory monthly check-ins for mentorship, guidance, and problem-solving. This will also include yearly performance evaluations and goal setting.
Works with Athletic Training Room Leads for AUBC and Memorial Facilities on day-to-day operations of these facilities and assist Director of Integrated Health and Sports Performance with policy and procedure incorporation.
Championship Event Coverage Co-Coordinator (Liaison to visiting team medical staff, scheduling of athletic training coverage, scheduling of physician coverage.
Leads off-boarding for departing employees. Helps employee return technology and keys and removes employee from all EMR/ communication systems.
Plans and manages summer Sports Medicine Meeting and required yearly trainings (CPR/ AED, Policy Review- Mental Health/ concussion/ condition-specific EAPs, Spineboarding, Inhaler use, Epi-pen use, oxygen use).
