The Associate Director of Video Production will work as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics Video Services staff, and report to the Assistant AD | Creative Video.
Responsibilities include: Supervise production shoots for the Broadcasting & Production office. Oversee a Production Assistant(s) who will be responsible for executing video content plans for a fall, winter, and spring sport. Produce, coordinate, and edit, the in-house execution of video content. Projects associated with this position will include, but are not limited to, web and social videos, program highlights, in-venue content, banquet videos, commercial spots aimed at generating revenue, and feature content built to drive affinity for Maryland student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.
Manage the scheduling of student hours and the distribution of social/digital video content for Olympic sports from practice and games. This will include seeing projects all the way through from ideation to delivery. The Associate Director will be responsible for creating, implementing, and holding students accountable to a Maryland Athletics Production Student Manual.
Work collaboratively across the external department on scheduling interviews, shooting schedules, and distribution for program spots. The content should be focused on revenue generation and fan engagement for distribution on digital and linear channels.
Work in conjunction with the Communications team to gather video-based social media analytics, and build a distribution plan accordingly. Utilize data centered around fan interest and consumption to help drive strategy for identifying and creating future projects.
Responsible for videotaping events and athletic contests for inclusion in video content for a multi-platform distribution model. The total number of events will differ based on home sporting contests but will include: football, oversight of four olympic sports, and include two video board shows. Participate in conceptualizing and collaborating with departmental units and coaching staffs on compelling video stories to be produced across the athletics department. Other duties as assigned.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required in Video Production, graphic design, or a related field with experience.
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years of experience with non-linear editing (Premiere, Final Cut) with an emphasis on video production for social platforms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilties:
Demonstrated ability in videography and lighting.
Proficiency with Mac systems and Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to produce and create exciting audiovisual mediums.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including frequent evenings and weekends.
Preference will be given to those candidates with collegiate or professional sports production experience, and to those with provable experience in 3 and 4D compositing.
Salary range $58,700-$73,400.

The scope of the position frequently requires weekend and evening work (Non-standard work hours). While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a camera, computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; Constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during and after events to service clients; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing and lifting up to 30 pounds.
