The Associate Director (AD) works with the VP and the Assistant VP of Enrollment Management on strategic planning and
budgeting for recruitment and scholarships for transfer and international students and trains and supervises staff in the
recruitment of transfers and internationals. The AD also recruits transfer students from the two-year Florida State
Colleges, and works closely with the Athletic Admissions AD to recruit and process international and transfer student-
athletes. The AD works with the FTIC admissions AD on a variety of matters, such as campus tours and special events.

The AD works with the offices of Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Services and Admissions Operations to develop and
ensure compliance with all adopted policies, protocols and procedures.
The Associate Director reviews communication flow and application forms to
FTIC, transfer, and international students, and develops communication flow
and publications specific to transfers and internationals.
The Associate Director reviews all transfer and international applications and
seeks the advice, and approval in some cases of the Admissions Committee,
Associate Dean, and Assistant VP on unique applications. The Associate
Director initiates and maintains student records in the Slate system, logging
all transactions with prospective students.
The Associate Director works closely with Admissions, Academic Affairs,
Student Affairs, and Financial Aid to ensure clear and timely responses to
requests for information, transfer credit evaluations, and financial aid
packaging.
The Associate Director communicates effectively and professionally to
colleagues, staff, administrators, prospective and current students, and New
College guests to create a positive impression of New College at all times
and in every situation
The Associate Director establishes and maintains articulation agreements
and guaranteed admission programs between New College and Florida State
Colleges, and maintains close partnerships with the honors student’s
directors at these colleges to encourage honors students to transfer to New
College. This includes monitoring, interpreting, and applying State University
System (SUS) admissions regulations and interpreting all policies pertaining
to the general evaluation and selection of candidates for admission to the
college, including verification that applicants have met the minimum SUS
requirements for transfer students.
The Associate Director monitors and stays apprised of the requirements
pertaining to records retention policies and permanent student records
procedures.
The Associate Director researches best practices in transfer and international
admissions processes, and in articulation practices and recommends
changes to improve clarity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
The Associate Director has ongoing external contact with prospective
students and their parents, and representatives from other educational
institutions and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
The Associate Director maintains thorough knowledge of the functions of the
offices of admissions and Financial Aid and develops good general
knowledge of other offices on campus, answering routine questions and
referring other questions directly to appropriate offices
The Associate Director supervises Transfer and International Admissions
staff as represented on the Enrollment Management Organization Chart.
Other duties as assigned
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an
appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience
Experience in higher education; excellent attention to detail; knowledge of Slate or other
Customer Relation Management system; previous experience working with students
transferring between two- and four-year colleges and universities, with international
students, and with student-athletes
