Position Summary:
Under minimal supervision, the Associate Head Coach is responsible for assisting in developing and administering the university's athletic program.
Key Responsibilities:
· Identify, assess and recruit prospective student-athletes. Interact and correspond directly with parents and prospective student-athletes.
· Assist with preparation and administration of budget expenditures.
· Assist with the training and supervision of assistant coaches, coordinators, and student managers.
· Assist with coaching and training members of the team during practice and competitions. Assess skills and instruct athletes on technique.
· Assist in game planning and preparation.
· Promote sport program through public speaking engagements and other appearances at functions as required.
· Adhere to all University, Missouri Valle Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
· Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Hire, train, develop and manage staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.
· Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in sport management, education or in a related field.
· Direct knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required.
· CPR and safety certifications required or must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
· Minimum of five (5) years of NCAA coaching experience or professional level.
