The Associate Head Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with the management and administration of all activities related to their sport which includes but is not limited to recruiting student-athletes, training/ coaching student-athletes participating in their sport, educating students, and acts as the head coach when the head coach is unavailable for conference affairs, conference calls, email correspondence. The Associate Head Coach will serve as the primary contact with Barry University’s compliance liaison and is fully responsible for compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations as well as Sunshine State Conference (SSC) rules and University policies governing intercollegiate athletics ​

Enables the achievement of a quality, competitive sports program and supports the educational goals of individual student-athletes by demonstrating a coaching philosophy which encourages those goals and promotes an environment conducive to both.
Protects the integrity of the sport coached and the reputation of the intercollegiate athletics program by assisting the University and Head Coach by ensuring that recruiting activities, student-athlete eligibility, scholarships and financial aid programs, scheduled practice sessions, and related activities are governed by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) are followed, and applicable conference rules and University policies are adhered to.
Interacts with the Associate AD/ SWA, Barry's Compliance Coordinator, Faculty Athletic Representative and the Coordinator for Student-Athlete Success on all matters pertaining to eligibility and academic success of each student-athlete. The Head coach updates and maintains relevant and pertinent information on Compliance Assistant, Salesforce, Workday and the ACS/Front Rush Athletic program
Reduces the likelihood of athletic-related injuries or the aggravation of such injuries during practice sessions and scheduled contests by being knowledgeable of the injuries sustained in the sport and proper prevention methods, directing appropriate pre-training session and pre-contest preparations and warm-ups, and arranging for qualified sports medicine personnel or athletic trainers to be available during all training sessions and contests.
Supports established athletic fund-raising goals by actively participating in fund-raising events and promotional activities for intercollegiate athletics and represents the Head Coach at selected events when schedules conflict.
Promotes a positive image of the intercollegiate athletics program and the University by establishing and enforcing standards of personal behavior, conduct, and appearance for the coaching staff, athletes, and support personnel on and off the University campus, participating in community and professional organizations, representing the University at professional meetings and on community committees, establishing and maintaining credible relations with various news media, provide leadership and direction to

The Associate Head Coach assists in the development and implementation of marketing strategies designed to enhance the image and visibility of the that sport.
Bachelor’s degree is required in any field of study
Master's degree is preferred
A Valid Driver's license is required
3-5 years of related experience is required
General Knowledge to identify, scrutinize, improve, and streamline work processes
Comfortable with executing paperwork for projects
Technically proficient in all office equipment
General knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
Adept at written and oral communications
