Job Summary

The position also plays an active role in student-athlete development, academic monitoring, and community engagement.

This role supports the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator in practice organization, game preparation, and administrative functions while ensuring compliance with NCAA, SIAC, University System of Georgia, and Albany State University policies. The position also plays an active role in student-athlete development, academic monitoring, and community engagement.

Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

Coaching & Program Leadership

• Assist the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator in planning and executing daily practices and game preparation for championship and non-championship segments.
• Serve as the primary coach for the offensive line, including technique development, film analysis, game planning, and in-game adjustments.
• Support the overall goals, culture, and standards of the football program.
• Promote sportsmanship and professionalism through daily conduct and leadership.

Recruiting & Player Development

• Assist with organizing and administering the recruiting of prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA, SIAC, USG, and Albany State policies.
• Assist with tracking admissions, eligibility, and roster management for recruited student-athletes.
• Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress in collaboration with compliance and academic support staff.
• Demonstrate consistent concern for the overall welfare, development, and success of student-athletes.

Administration & Operations

• Assist, if assigned, with managing the program budget and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
• Assist with coordinating team and recruiting travel in compliance with all institutional and governing body regulations.
• Assist with equipment ordering, inventory, and supply management in coordination with athletic administration.
• Work collaboratively with the Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to all rules and regulations.
• Assist with facilities oversight or game management duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Assist with supervision and evaluation of interns, graduate assistants, managers, and/or work-study students.

Engagement & Advancement

• Actively participate in camps, clinics, promotional activities, fundraising initiatives, and public relations efforts for the football program and Department of Athletics.
• Support community engagement initiatives for the program and represent the department positively within the community.
• Attend and participate in required conference meetings, events, and championships.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree. 

Minimum of two (2) years of collegiate, professional, or high-level coaching or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree. 

Offensive line coaching experience at the collegiate level.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) rules and regulations.

Knowledge of NCAA sport specific rules and regulations.

In-depth knowledge of football offensive football systems and techniques.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to motivate, develop and mentor student-athletes.

Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative coaching and administrative team.

Ability to develop and execute plans aligned with program, department and institutional goals.

Proficiency with computers and job-related software applications.

Ability to provide timely and accurate information as requested by stakeholders.
