In intercollegiate athletics, strong leadership is paramount & this might be your time to shine. You must be driven to continually research new practices/techniques that would benefit the safety & welfare of our student-athletes and our department. One main focus is on building and maintaining the synergy between all systems involved for the best outcome of those being served. Your leadership & experience in athletics will take center stage & is crucial bridging the gaps and streamlining procedures to provide a high level of efficiency. Provides leadership and strategic direction for all personnel and functions associated with the health and performance team, including but not limited to, point of contact for the Sports Medicine partnership with medical affiliates. Collaborates on the establishment, definition, planning, and communication of the vision and direction for health and performance team.
Serves as the primary Athletics Health Care Administrator to oversee the health and performance team in collaboration with leadership. Directs cross-functional teams while ensuring strategic development of cutting-edge student-athlete care including but not limited to: highly efficient synergy between Shocker Athletics and medical affiliates, maximization of available resources and identification and usage of alternative treatment therapies. Provides expert level strategic leadership and planning to the health and performance team which incorporates consistent and innovative training and accountability practices for personnel within units. Ensures adherence to all University, department, National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and American Athletics Conference (AAC) policies, procedures and regulations. Represents the University through collaborative engagements on campus and conference committees. Demonstrates a daily commitment to the department mission to “develop young people and programs, the Shocker Way, through first-class service to our student-athletes, coaches and Shocker Nation”, including core values, student-athlete development and broad-based competitive excellence. Provides on-site and in-person leadership which includes working long hours to include nights, weekends and moderate travel.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Certifications within the realm of Sports Health & Performance Athletic Training Certification
Eight (8) years of experience in intercollegiate athletics administration, student athlete health and performance, or related field, with three (3) years of experience in a leadership role. Every 15 hours of graduate college coursework beyond a bachelor’s degree can be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
Extensive experience in Athletics Health & Performance including supervision of unit(s). Knowledge of cutting-edge trainings & treatments for high-performance athletes. Strategic planning and policy and procedure development. Dynamic leadership abilities to drive synergies between cross-functional Health & Performance units. Experience in the growth and maximization of resources available. Commitment to the highest level of student-athlete welfare.
Valid Kansas driver’s license
No export control requirement.
Associate Level – Minimum Experience:Five (5) years of experience in intercollegiate athletics administration, student athlete health and performance, or related field, with one (1) year of experience in a leadership role.
