As a member of
NCAA
Division I, the College must ensure compliance with the association’s rules and regulations. This position will be responsible for the direction and overall quality and comprehensive nature of the Compliance Program for W&M Athletics. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating, implementing, facilitating, overseeing and evaluating all facets of the Athletics Compliance Program, which includes but is not limited to: eligibility and financial aid certification on a semester basis; graduation data and academic progress performance reporting; and monitoring and educating student athletes, coaches and administrators. Commitment to confidentiality is essential, as this position will be required to handle confidential and sensitive information.
Compliance department employees must work under tight time constraints and tremendous pressure to provide correct and complete information. Evening and weekend work outside of normal duty hours required during heavy periods, mainly prior to each semester start.

Faculty or Staff: 12 month
• Education: Master’s degree or JD.
• Significant experience working in athletic compliance or institutional compliance/policy development.
• Significant knowledge of
NCAA
rules and regulations, with a demonstrated ability to track legislative changes and interpretations of the rules and perform analysis of the application of rules as intended.
• Demonstrates high level analytical skills and must be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise in applying the rules and interpretations.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively, thoroughly, and accurately to student-athletes, coaches, and administrators both internally and externally.
Experience in athletic coaching or administration.
Several years experience in compliance office at an
NCAA
Division I or Division II member institution, conference office, and/or the
NCAA
National Office.
Several years experience working in Athletic Compliance.
Hybrid (works remotely at least 1 day per week but not full-time)
Remote work eligibility is not guaranteed and is subject to approval. Employee eligibility depends on the likelihood of the employee succeeding in a remote work arrangement and the supervisor’s ability to manage remote workers. Departments and/or Human Resources may amend, alter, change, delete, or modify eligibility.
Up to $60,000
All hiring rates are commensurate with relevant experience up to the advertised amount considering internal alignment.
This position has an established starting rate.
