Position Overview:
The Assistant Athletic Director/ Strength and Conditioning Coach will oversee all aspects of a comprehensive strength and conditioning program including, but not limited to, the development and implementation of comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for 28 varsity programs. Responsibilities will also include scheduling and managing the daily operations of the intercollegiate weight room. The director of strength and conditioning will oversee policies and procedures, facility organization, and risk management for the strength and conditioning performance team.
Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervision and professional development of all strength and conditioning staff as assigned, including managing the Graduate Fellows program.
Effectively work, communicate and build collaborative relationships with head sports coaches, athletic trainers, faculty, and administrators.
Plan, organize, and execute a dynamic training program to develop and prepare student-athletes to maximize their potential and pursue excellence in athletic achievement.
Effectively assign sport assignments to Asst. Strength and Conditioning coach as well as graduate fellows.
Coordinate the scheduling of weight room training for all athletic programs.
Oversight of the weight room to include upkeep and maintenance.
Oversight of Nutrition plan implementation for all sports and all student athletes.
Communicate with the athletic training staff and coaches regarding the physical status of the student athletes to ensure their safety and welfare is appropriately tracked and monitored.
Oversee policies and procedures, facility organization, and risk management that ensure a safe and productive working environment.
Stay updated with current trends, techniques, and certifications as a professional practitioner in strength and conditioning
Maintain a safe and respectful environment, emphasizing student-athlete welfare.

Represent the program with the highest level of professionalism, sportsmanship and integrity.
Support a culture that demonstrates a commitment to NCAA rules compliance, conference rules and protocols, and institutional policies.
Foster a culture that demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as well as trust and mutual respect.
Participate in departmental activities including staff meetings, compliance education, diversity, equity and inclusion training, guest speaker presentations and other events/meetings.
Fulfill other specific areas of responsibility related to the program as assigned by the director of athletics.
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
3-5 years of previous strength and conditioning coach experience
Certified by an independent accreditation agency required. (e.g., National Strength and Conditioning Association, CSCS) (NCAA Mandatory)
CPR/First Aid certification
Proven ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Knowledge of NCAA rules and intercollegiate athletics
Commitment to supporting the academic success and overall well-being of student-athletes
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent administrative and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and complete tasks by established deadlines
