The Assistant Director of Development for Intercollegiate Athletics, under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Assistant Vice President or above, is responsible for seeking, identifying, cultivating and soliciting annual fund and major gifts and prospects.

Apply NowWork in a coordinated and collaborative effort with University Development staff regarding identification, stewardship and proposal development.
Work directly with coaches in support of sport-specific giving and alumni events/communication.
Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate AD or UDAE Assistant VP as they related to overall fundraising goals.
Marginal Functions:
Active member of the Athletics' external operations team. May represent the Athletic Department and/or University on local committees.
Departmental Requirements:
Related experience may include a combination of fundraising, external sales, external/community affairs, business development, marketing or experience that involves reaching out to external constituencies to engage more closely with the organization or company you represent. - Must be a proven self-starter who can work independently and hold her/himself accountable for results. - Excellent interpersonal skills (position requires high visibility internally and externally). - Superior written and verbal communication skills. - Proven computer literacy. - Experience with fundraising software. Experience in Athletics is preferred.
Supervision Exercised:
Supervise Coordinator as well as Graduate Assistants, OPS employees, and interns.
Supervision Received:
Assistant Director of Athletic Development will report to the Senior Associate Athletics Director. At the beginning of each fiscal year, the Assistant Director will develop a set of goals annually related to fundraising efforts in consultation with the Senior Associate AD, Director of Athletics, and UDAE Assistant VP.
Level of Public Contact:
Very high visibility both internally and externally.
Monetary Responsibility:
Receives gifts of varying amounts in various forms of payment from donors. Responsible for properly processing each gift in conjunction with Advancement Services. Assist in managing the Osprey Club within the allotted budget.
Policy-making and/or Interpretation:
Works closely with the Senior Associate AD in developing policies related to the Athletics' Development Office.
Program Direction and Development:
Plays an integral role in advancing the Athletics Development Office's fundraising efforts.
