Assistant Football Coach:
Description:

Responsibilities:
• Assist the head coach in all phases of the football program including coaching practices, game preparations, recruiting, public relations, and fundraising.
• Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the NCAA Division III, Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW), Carroll University, and Carroll University Athletics policies and procedures.
• Understand and comply with the NCAA Division III, and the Carroll University philosophy and mission.
• Act as a professional and positive representative of the Carroll University Educational Experience.
• Serve as counselor, teacher and role model so that student athletes will improve upon their physical, intellectual, and social behaviors.
• Maximize the physical talent of the team through quality coaching/teaching of appropriate skills needed to be successful in that sport and the promotion of teamwork.
• Assist in the planning, organization, and administration of all in-season practice sessions.
• Be involved in the recruitment of student athletes and work with the Office of Admission to maximize enrollment.
• Retain student athletes at Carroll University and within the teams.
• Maintain, manage and update equipment inventories.
• Assist in the management and maintenance of all practice and contest facilities used by the teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Student Athlete Advisor Committee (SAAC) Advisor:
• Assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance in oversight and operations of SAAC
• Attend monthly SAAC operation meetings
• Plan and coordinate volunteer opportunities/events for student-athletes
• Plan and coordinate special events revolved around Carroll home contest to promote attendance and student-athlete wellbeing
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree (required)
• Master’s degree (preferred)
• Expertise in the sport having a minimum of 5 years of progressive coaching experience on the intercollegiate level (preferred)
• Knowledge of and compliance with the NCAA Division III mission and philosophies (preferred)
Human Relations Skills:
• Ability to lead and function effectively as a team leader/player
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must possess sensitivity to the needs of student-athletes and an understanding of their overall educational goals as well as the academic mission of the University.
• Positive attitude towards the University and its intercollegiate programs is essential
• Ability to conduct self in a productive, professional manner at all times
• Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission.
