| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

| Position Summary |
Assist Director with daily operations involving sports performance training for Olympic Sports Student- Athletes. Duties includes Program design and application of training programs for selected teams/ athletes, assist other full-time staff with training coverage during peak hours and schedule overlaps, and weekly minimal light cleaning. Other special duties/ projects as determine by Director.

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
|
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a working knowledge of various computer applications.
-Ability to advise and manage matters related to strength and conditioning operations.
-Effective decision-making skills; ability to handle and adapt to high levels of stress.
-Demonstrate appropriate proactivity.

| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Bachelors degree in related field (Exercise Science, Sport Science,Physical Education, Health Science). 1-2 yrs. coaching experience (Exercise class or Sport related). Current professional certification from NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa. Current CPR/AED certification.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a working knowledge of various computer applications. | | Special Physical/Mental Requirements | | | Campus Security Authority Responsibilities |
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
