Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Athletic Academic Advisor for the Academic Support Services.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides sound academic advisement for student athletes.
Guides student athletes through the academic progress, drawing on knowledge and proficiency of
NCAA
rules and the academic standards of schools within the University.
Works with assigned coaches and team to plan enhanced support services.
Manages the data collection and distribution of information to various university personnel as directed such as athletic and academic administration.
Works in conjunction with the Director, Director of Eligibility and Manager of Student Athlete Certification to track student athlete’s progress in relation to
NCAA
guidelines.
Participates in recruitment activities.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in educational counseling, psychology, sociology, student personnel services or related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.

- The ability to learn new office systems, as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
