To perform advising, counseling and monitoring duties regarding the academic progress and eligibility of student athletes.
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: Maintain detailed and accurate records of students' academic progress and performance. Monitor NCAA, MAC and institutional requirements for continuing eligibility. Meet weekly with assigned student-athletes to monitor academic performance and provide academic support. Assist with team recruiting events for academics. Perform related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Sports Administration or related field; three months experience working with students in an educational setting; teaching, higher education, academic advising, counseling, academic support services, or related field. License/Certification: Knowledge Of: National Collegiate Athletic Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations regarding academic eligibility; academic programs * Personal computer applications Skill In: Working with academically challenged students and students with learning disabilities Organizational, written and oral communication to interact effectively with members of the University community Ability To: Work evenings, weekends and travel as needed with athletic teams Demonstrate professionalism and effectively interact with a diverse population of students, coaches, and university administrators
Master’s degree in Education, Sport Administration or a related field. One year of work experience in intercollegiate academic counseling or student services setting.

Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus frequently.
