The Athletic Communications Assistant for Multimedia and Broadcasts will assist the Director of Sports Information and Gameday Operations (SID) with the multimedia functions and broadcast supervision of a Division III Athletic Communications Office. This job will serve as the primary content creator for the Athletics Department and will oversee the broadcasts of Alvernia’s Varsity athletics programs. This position will work closely with the SID and Assistant SID on content creation from the planning phase to execution phase to publicize the academic and athletic accomplishments of Alvernia’s 600+ student-athletes.

Serveas the primary videographer and producer for the creation of highlight videos and feature videos for auwolves.com and Alvernia Athletics on social media.
Produce engaging and compelling multimedia content to promote Alvernia Athletics across various platforms
Serve as the supervisor for all aspects of Vern Sports Network. This includes working with the Assistant SID in the scheduling of student broadcasters, camera operators, and producer, the maintenance of video and audio equipment, and providing recommendations on the upgrades based on trends and advancements in technology.
Serve as a photographer for gamedays and media days as needed by the SID.
Additional Responsibilities:
Develop, market, and promote athletic programs for the internal and external community, including local, regional, and hometown media.
This position will be trained in the statisticaland writingside of one sport per season (Fall, Winter, Spring)primarilytoassistthe SID and Assistant SID when three facilities have games overlapping at once. The sport will be selected based on the interests and knowledge of the selected candidate.
Compile, process, andmaintainthe archives of photos and videos taken.
Travel with respective teams for postseason competition coverage as assigned by the SID
Perform other duties as assigned by the SID,Assistant SID, and/or Director of Athletics.
Qualifications/Education:
Commitment to the mission statement, core values and goals of Alvernia University.
Bachelor’s degreerequired; prior college sports information office experience andMaster’sdegree ispreferred.
A demonstratedability to effectively communicate with student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and athletic administration. Commitment to be a good colleague and team player.
Demonstratedproficiencywith the following software programs: Adobe Premiere Pro, AdobeLightRoom, Adobe Photoshop. Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, and Adobe Illustrator.
Experience with Production Trucksoftware
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate strong abilities in editing, web design, social media, and video content production and editing.
Demonstrated problem-solving, strong leadership, communication, organizational, and team-building skills/capabilities; ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment.
Candidate should submit a portfolio demonstrating their proficiency of videography, and video editing software. Candidates should also include at least two videos, as well as any other supplemental information (photos, graphics, additional videos, etc.) they wish to include.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
