Job Description:

The Director of Athletics Communications and Sports Information is a full-time, 12-month position that will report to the Director of Athletics. The Institution is a member of the North Atlantic Conference and sponsors 13 Division III varsity sports. This position will provide all sports communications for the SUNY Poly Athletic Department and serve as the primary communications contact for all athletic activities, including reporting on athletic events, teams, staff, and student-athletes. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who will strive to enhance the student-athlete experience and support the mission of SUNY Poly and its athletic department while maintaining NAC conference and NCAA responsibilities.

• Responsible for the oversight of all Athletics communications for 13 varsity Intercollegiate sports programs, including but not limited to: maintaining the SUNY Poly Athletics webpage and all social media accounts
• Serve on-site to coordinate all game-day operations including oversight of score tables, management of student workers, graduate assistants and/or intercollegiate workers and provide statistical compilation and livestreaming for events.
• Provide post-contest press releases and any student-athlete or staff feature pieces and promote via the website and social media channels. Nominate student-athletes and staff members, where applicable, for conference, regional and national awards
• Meet all submission deadlines for NCAA and conference results, statistical reporting, and voting. Ensure compliance with all NCAA and conference rules
• Develop, archive and maintain photo files, statistics, and records for all varsity sports
• Serve as the point of contact for website and streaming services providers for any upgrades, troubleshooting, or system relaunches. Produce content for events including game programs, recruitment brochures, athletic clinics, and any special events. Serve as the point of contact for in-game/match promotions and activities.
• Assist with athletics special event match/game days, i.e., Senior Days, NCAA Division III Week, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Social Media campaign, etc. Assist with the coordination and planning for the End-of-Year Athletics Banquet.
• Provide marketing, promotion, planning, and coordination of athletics special events, i.e., Alumni Weekend, Athletics Hall of Fame, Golf Tournament/Fundraiser, etc.
• Work with staff and SAAC members to promote team activities, community service projects, and special events.
• Other reasonable duties as assigned.

Salary: $45,000-$48,000

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
• Experience working in a sports information office or with media relations is preferred
• Knowledge of webpage interface and development
• Proficiency using NCAA Live Stats, StatCrew scoring software, and PrestoSports software
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software
• Knowledge of social media channels; specifically Facebook, X (formally Twitter), and Instagram
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong computer skills and competency with Microsoft Office.
