Job Description

The Athletic Communications Specialist position supports the promotion, coverage, and public visibility of an athletics program through accurate storytelling and engaging multimedia content. This role is responsible for producing written materials such as game recaps, previews, and feature stories; maintaining statistics and historical records; managing team web pages; and assisting with media relations on game days. The position may serve as the primary communications contact for assigned sports and plays an important role in ensuring consistency, accuracy, and professionalism across all athletics communication platforms.

The position also assists with the supervision, training, and scheduling of student workers and interns, particularly in areas such as statistics, social media, photography, and event operations. Responsibilities frequently include coordinating or supporting the broadcasting and live streaming of home events, including graphics, on-screen data, and basic production oversight. Additional duties may involve creating or assisting with graphic design and video content for social media, websites, and in-venue use.
