Description

The student worker(s) will be responsible for learning all aspects of the sports information position and providing in office and game day support to our Assistant Director of Athletics and SID.

Department: Athletics

Pay Rate: $13.75/hour

No. of Anticipated Weekly Hours: 8-10 hours per week depending on sports schedule. Some weeks will only be office hours due to teams playing on the road. (FYI -A typical home game is 3 hours.)

Description

The student worker(s) will be responsible for learning all aspects of the sports information position and providing in office and game day support to our Assistant Director of Athletics and SID.

Responsibilities: (including but not limited to)

• Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Athletics and SID to write, edit, and distribute press releases, newsletters, and other communications to promote athletic achievements and events.
• Assist in the coordination and execution of game day operations, including setup, statistics, and post-game procedure.
• Assist in updating and managing the Stephens Stars Athletics website in a timely and accurate manner (accurate content, accurate schedules, scores, player profiles, sports writing).
• Assist in the capture and edit of photos and videos at athletic events for promotional and archival purposes.
• Provide support in managing social media accounts related to SID ensuring consistent and engaging content.
• Assist in maintaining statistical databases, alumni records, and awards.
• Contribute to the creation of multimedia presentations and promotional materials for Stars Club and Scholarship Fund.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Current enrollment as a student at the college that is approved for work study/program through Financial Aid.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of sports and enthusiasm for college athletics and Stephens Stars Athletics.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and content management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on sports schedule.
• Photo and video editing skills.
