• Under the guidance and director of the Director of AthleticPerformance design and implement programs to meet the needs and goals of the athletes and solely responsible for specific sports programs.
• Conduct assessments to identify any areas of improvement for a student athlete.
• Integrate injury prevention techniques into programs and work in partnership with Athletic Training staff on injury-specific rehab.

Requirements of the Graduate Athletics Intern – Athletic Performance:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in exercise science, sports administration or another sports/exercise-related field.
• Working towardanationally accredited certification in strength and conditioning by either the NSCA CSCS and/or the CSCCA SCCC
• Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends; travel with teams if time allows.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to Gardner-Webb University Mission and Values, including the responsibility to develop the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of athletic and personal performance.
