Athletic Grounds Technician
to provide field maintenance and landscaping services for athletic fields and landscaped areas around athletic facilities! This individual prepares university fields for athletic events, ensuring that fields are safe and consistent for collegiate competition standards.

Performs a variety of technical field and landscape related duties to include mowing, topdressing, overseeding, vertical mowing, aerifying, installing sod, pruning, planting shrubs, fertilizing, as well as distribution of chemical applications such as herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides.
Paints,marks, and oversees field layouts on natural and synthetic turf, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards for

and
NCAA
Division I Athletics fields.
Performs maintenance on small and large equipment for the functions of maintaining turf and landscaping fo the campus athletic facilities.
Identifies plant diseases, insect damage, weather related turf and landscaping damages, and/or other damages of athletic properties to apply corrective measures and treatment. Recommends, applies, documents, and maintains the appropriate information regarding equipment, chemical usage, applications, operations, and maintenance procedures.
Assists in set-up, take-down, operations, oversight, and customer service of events hosted by Auburn Athletics.
Ensures safety of guests and student athletes by maintaining cleanliness and security of all fields, structures, walkway/sidewalks, curbs, driveways, and parking lots, etc., within responsible area.
Inspects, identifies, and/or repairs irrigation systems on athletic field and landscaped areas.
Assists in the management of inventory and proper storage of tools, equipment, and supplies for turf and landscaping needs.
Complies with all applicable National Collegiate Athletics Association (
NCAA
) and Southeastern Conference (
SEC
) regulations in the performance of job duties.
Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.

- General knowledge of soils and turf grass management
- Knowledge of pesticides and fertilizers
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform general maintenance on equipment
- Ability to understand and use hand tools, climb ladders, operate mowers, tractors, fork lifts, aerifiers, topdressers, and vertical mowers
- Ability to user computers with general knowledge of using spreadsheet software for logging applications and inventory management
