Athletic Academic Services
Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or related field and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in an educational setting with a diverse student-athlete population.
Must provide and maintain a valid driver’s license.
The department is especially interested in candidates with demonstrated teaching expertise and counseling experience with students who have been diagnosed with learning disabilities and/or deficiencies.
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This position may require some early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Conducts individual academic assistance appointments and assessments with student-athletes who are academically at-risk or who have learning disabilities.

Assists with reviewing any reports on students with learning disabilities.

Assist with communication with the Disability Resources for Students (DRS) office on campus for all student-athletes using their services and then communicate updates to CAAS staff.

Schedules academic mentoring sessions for student-athletes with learning disabilities.

Assists with training and oversight of academic mentors as well as tutors.

Assists Center for Athletic Academic Services (CAAS) staff in hiring and recruiting of academic mentors and tutors.

Assist Tutor Coordinator; Manage, train, recruit, and coordinate our group of 5-10 tutors; Communicate with on-campus tutor coordinator concerning online tutoring services offered through the University.
