Athletic Operations Assistant & Assistant Head Soccer Coach

Wesleyan College is a small private liberal arts college in Macon, GA. Founded in 1836 as the first college in the world to grant degrees to women, Wesleyan takes seriously the education of women both in and out of the classroom. The Athletics Operations Assistant will assist the Department of Athletics in supporting the day to day administration and guidance of Wesleyan’s varsity sports programs. This position provides exposure to a variety of areas within the department of athletics including: planning; budget management; contest management; compliance; sport oversight; student-athlete welfare issues and initiatives; academics; diversity and inclusion initiatives; and staff oversight/management.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Soccer Coach in day-to-day operations of the soccer team including practices, games, travel, and recruiting.
• Manage staffing for home events.
• Assist in working home games by keeping stats, setting up live stream, and acting as game administrator.
• Assist in filing reports with NCAA.
• Track compliance for athletes and keep records of paperwork.
• Assist in recruiting within the athletic department.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• A minimum of one to two years of collegiate soccer experience. This may include graduate assistant work.
• Must have a US Soccer B License
• Ability to work with a diverse student population and develop rapport with students
• Demonstrates clear organization skills, self-driven initiative, effective oral and written communication skills, and leadership capabilities
