Job Description:

Assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the facility and equipment as well as operate Zamboni and other auxiliary ice conditioning equipment to condition Ice Rink for ice hockey events, general skating, etc.  Use hand tools, Zamboni, ice edger, paint brush, roller, shovel, broom, mop, and similar other tools.  Remove ice at appropriate time of year, as directed.  Shovel snow from entrances, walks, stairs, or as assigned.  Detect and report defective or unsafe equipment and material to supervisor.  Observe and obey all established safety rules, practices, and procedures. Assist in managing the Ice Rink.  Perform other similar or related duties as requested.

• Operate ice-making machinery in a safe and professional manner.
• Make ice and maintain ice with NCAA and industry safety standards. Make ice hourly or when needed.
• Log ice-making and locker room checking times.
• Edge ice on early morning shifts.
• Clear ice of all obstacles before making ice.
• Open ice rink and building for morning rentals if necessary.
• Check locker rooms, prevent any improper behavior; check center hall.
• Clean locker rooms, corridors, stands, and bench areas.
• Keep office area organized.
• Ensure rentals sign-out for locker room use.
• Be alert and aware of all activities in the rink.
• Secure office area.
• Regularly patrol rink areas and center corridor when working.
• Assist the Director of the Luth Center.
• Perform additional duties in a professional and efficient manner.
• Provide courteous and professional help to all patrons.

Minimum Qualifications :

• High School Diploma
• Experience operating a Zamboni
• Experience using hand tools, Zamboni, ice edger, paint brush, roller, shovel, broom, mop, and similar other tools required.

Additional Information:

This is a part-time, seasonal position 16 - 20 hours per week.
