This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering athletic training services to assigned teams including prevention, recognition, evaluation, and treatment of athletic injuries; acute care and emergency response to athletic injuries; rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries; and health care administration for the student-athletes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** :**
Evaluates, treats and rehabilitates injuries of TAMUT athletes. Taping, bracing and preparation of student athletes for practice and games (events) of assigned sports.
Provides attendance and supervision, for safety preventive and emergency care of student athletes, at practices and games (events) of assigned sports. Travel, as directed and required, with assigned teams.
Charting and record keeping of student athlete injuries while utilizing current record keeping systems and protocols. Coordination and consultation with Physicians, and student athletes and medical facilities regarding health care.
Assists in supervision of student athletic trainer apprenticeship education.
Maintains professional licenses and certifications.
Assists in maintenance and supervision of athletic training room, equipment, and supply inventory.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES** :**
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
One-year full-time experience or three years part-time, paid, or voluntary experience as a student trainer.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
General knowledge of NAIA and NCAA rules.
Knowledge of drug testing procedures
Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Medical & First Aid skills, including joint taping and physical therapy skills.
Must be able to obtain a State of Texas License to practice Athletic Training within six months.

Member of the National Athletic Trainers Association
Licensed Athletic Trainer through the Texas Advisory Board of Athletic Trainers
CPR Certification
Automatic External Defibrillator Certification
Other Requirements
Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
