The Athletic Trainer provides care for and aids in the prevention of athletically-related injuries, including therapeutic rehabilitation to allow for return to competition, while prioritizing the welfare of student-athletes.
Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.Bachelor’s degree, plus two years of relevant experience; National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) certification; first aid, CPR and AED certification; ability to work flexible schedule and travel with teams to away contests, where necessary.As a staff member within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, the person assuming this position is responsible for knowledge of and compliance with institutional, conference and NCAA rules, both those general in nature and those which apply specifically to their job responsibilities. Knowledge of and compliance with NCAA rules is a condition of employment in this position.
Master’s degree; Advanced training or experience in a collegiate or professional sports environment.
The person assuming this position must possess: interpersonal and verbal communication skills; ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies; critical thinking and problem solving aptitude; ability to initiate appropriate action to resolve challenging issues; organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and manage projects; and conscious customer service orientation.
