Job Description

Randolph-Macon College invites applications for 2 full-time, 10-month positions of Athletic Trainer with primary sport responsibilities to be determined based on previous experience and current staff expertise. The position requires, but is not limited to, working under the direction of the Director of Sports Medicine in the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the College’s athletics program as well as assisting in the management and operation of the Sports Medicine Clinic. Athletic Trainer is expected to provide care and coordinate referrals in consultation with the Team Physician.  Must communicate daily with Director of Sports Medicine and Head Coaches.  Position requires extended hours, weekend work, some travel, and additional duties assigned by Director of Sports Medicine. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes full benefit package. Continuing education is supported and encouraged. 

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization is required and a Master’s degree is preferred. Must be certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and have Virginia State Athletic Training Licensure or be eligible to attain licensure. It is preferable that applicants have some familiarity with NCAA governing rules. 

 ** Preferred Qualifications:** Master’s Degree preferred as well as experience with injury prevention and specific experience working with overhead athletes and managing multiple teams in a high-volume clinical environment.
