About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY:
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing exceptional care and service to Northeastern university student-athletes. Preference will be for candidates with experience in women’s basketball. This role will deliver athletic training services to effectively manage all injuries/illnesses experienced by intercollegiate athletes, including prevention, evaluation, management, and reconditioning of athletic injuries to nurture safety and well-being. Athletic trainers are expected to manage potentially catastrophic, acute, and chronic athletic injuries within the scope of practice for athletic training, to include rehabilitation and return-to-play decisions. In addition, this position is expected to collaborate and coordinate effectively with team physicians, physical therapists, sports medicine fellows, athletic training students, and other clinical students associated with Sports Performance and Northeastern University, strength and conditioning coaches, head coaches and sport administrators.
This is a full-time, 12-month, benefits eligible position.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Under the supervision of the Head Team Physician and Director of Athletic Training, provide athletic training services to care for intercollegiate athletes along with emergency medical services to manage catastrophic and life-threatening injury at athletic practices/events.
Communicate effectively and efficiently with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, sports performance staff, and other appropriate individuals regarding student-athletes’ condition to provide assurance and information necessary to facilitate recovery.
Communicate with referring physicians and other allied health professions regarding a student-athlete's condition to provide appropriate care and prescribed treatment, as well as liaison to access appropriate services to manage the medical needs of student-athletes.
Maintain comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date medical records by coordinating annual physicals and health screening for all intercollegiate athletes and offering additional guidance appropriate to develop

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduate from a CAATE accredited Bachelors or Entry-Level Masters education program
BOC Certified (or eligible)
Massachusetts Licensed Athletic Trainer (or eligible)
Current CPR/AED certification
Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Must be willing to travel and work nights and weekends

Expected Hiring Range:
$52,820.00 - $74,607.50
