Job Summary

 

  • Work under the guidance of Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC). 
  • Commitment to provide the best care and necessary medical services for all student athletes. 
  • Rehabilitation services and therapeutic exercise, emergency care, injury prevention, injury evaluation, referral when needed. 
  • Comply with NAIA and Southern States Conference policies. 
  • Work with Head AT on ensuring medical coverage of all home events for the Athletic Department and Athletic Teams (Womens Soccer, Softball, Baseball, Men and Womens Tennis, Men and Womens Cross Country, Mens Golf, Men and Womens Basketball).
  • Assist with budget, inventory, ordering of medical supplies. 
  • Work closely with the guidance of the ABAC Health Center with any illnesses of student athletes. 
  • Organize, plan and perform Pre-Participation Physical Exams with Head AT, ABAC Health Center, local healthcare professionals, Georgia Sports Medicine providers and staff. 

  • Proper referral to Georgia Sports Medicine or any other provider when necessary. 

  • Assist with Emergency Action Plan and make sure all coaches and staff are familiar with course of action in case of emergency as well as what to do if AT/Medical Provider is not available. 

  • Make decisions on weather and lightning safety. (WeatherBug app) - Proper use and initiation of concussion protocol. 

  • Use of EMR system (PyraMed). 

  • Be able to assist with insurance claims, make sure every athlete has the proper medical insurance per USG requirements, and comply with ABAC Secondary insurance policies (Mutual of Omaha).
