Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the incumbent is responsible for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for a 16-sport, NCAA Division 1 program.
Job Summary
Coordinates and executes athletic training program for assigned sport(s), placing the safety of all student-athletes as the highest priority. Communicates with and informs the Head Athletic Trainer regarding any concerns associated with student-athlete welfare. Supports the athletic training needs of other sports/programs as necessary. Helps maintain inventory of all athletic training equipment.
Required Qualifications
NATA-BOC certification and eligibility for South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Athletic Training or related field and at least one year of athletic training experience, preferably at the college level. Work with soccer and lacrosse athletes.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Summary
Demonstrated ability to analyze and treat athletic injuries. Ability to execute all required functions of a comprehensive athletic training program; accept and successfully complete assigned duties; follow all institutional, Big South and NCAA policies and bylaws; and communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes.
