Position Title:   Full-Time Assistant Athletic Trainer (9 months)
Reporting To:  Associate Head Athletic Trainer/Athletic Director

Job Overview: The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist in the sports medicine program for the College, including prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment, and rehabilitation.

Essential Functions:

• Provide athletic training services for selected College varsity sports, practices and home contests.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation of all medical history forms, athletic injury forms, concussion forms and rehabilitation progress notes.
• Collaborates with additional campus wellness resources and/or external resources (ex. team physician) for the purposes of enhancing the student-athlete experience.
• Other duties as assigned by the Associate Head Athletic Trainers and/or Director of Athletics.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization, Master’s degree preferred
• Certification the National Athletic Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
• Licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer by the State of Connecticut
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization, Master’s degree preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Certification the National Athletic Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
• Licensed as a Certified Athletic Trainer by the State of Connecticut
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.

Work Schedule Requirements :

• Monday – Friday: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
• Special Work Schedule Requirements :   This position includes weekend and evening hours.

Benefits:
Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-Time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees). The college is committed to work-life balance and has a summer schedule from June through August. We currently have 14 paid holidays, including a winter break.  You will have the opportunity to participate in our retirement plan from day one, and after one year of employment, the college contributes depending on your service years.
