Grays Harbor College athletics invites applications for the position of Athletic Trainer. Under general direction of the Athletic Director, this position will develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medicine program for Grays Harbor College intercollegiate and intramural sports. The licensed Athletic Trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program. This position will also design and develop a training room including assessment of medical supplies.

This position is a 10-month position, August 1-May 31. Grays Harbor College has an excellent benefits package to include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, primary and supplemental retirement programs and long-term disability insurance. Full-time employees will also receive 15.34 hours of vacation leave per month, 8 hours of sick leave per month and 4 personal leave days a year. Washington state also observes 11 paid holidays per year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive sports medicine program for Grays Harbor College Athletics to include; prevention, assessment, management, and rehabilitation of sports injuries.
  • Provide scheduled clinic hours for assessment and treatment of sports injuries, along with referrals to local physicians as appropriate.
  • Provide medical coverage for both Grays Harbor College and visiting student-athletes at home sport events, with occasional travel to away events.
  • Working with local physicians, determine return to play status and return to play progression for injured athletes.
