Job Title: Athletic Trainer

SUMMARY
The Athletic Trainer is responsible for the health and safety of athletic department ensuring proper treatment and rehabilitation to injured athletes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Develop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for University intercollegiate sports. The head athletic trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program. - Develop overall sports medicine program for the University, including: injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, and educational programs - Provide athletic training services for the University’s athletic department, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home competitions as necessary - Coordinate and schedule physical examinations and medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete - Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs - Schedule and coordinate athletic training staff and students for coverage of all team practices and athletic competitions - Assist Athletic Director and Office Manager in the management of the sports medical program budget - Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the sports medical program - Track, implement, and record all applications of athletic insurance - Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviews professional publications; establishes personal networks; participates in professional societies. - Performs other duties as requested by supervisors - Attendance at weekly staff meetings.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree required in related field Masters in Athletic Training (preferred not required)
NATA certified ATC required 3-5 years experience working as an ATC.
Language Skills:
- Superior command of English grammar and spelling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Exceptional presentation and public speaking ability.
Mathematical and Technology Skills:
- Ability to analyze financial documents statistical data using mathematical
- formulas and tools.
- Working knowledge and application of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word,
Excel Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new software packages.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Applies logical or scientific methods to a wide range of intellectual problems
