The University of Southern Maine’s Athletic Department is seeking applicants for their Athletic Trainer position. Athletics is an important and exciting part of student life at the University of Southern Maine. The selected candidate will provideprevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries sustained by intercollegiate student-athletes (which includes emergency/acute care, evaluation, referral, modality application, and educational counseling relating to the student-athlete's overall wellness). This is a full-time position with awork schedule that varies depending on the competition and practice schedule and season. Some travel is required. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from CAATE accredited program (obtained by start date).
Licenses/Certifications:
- BOC (Board of Certification) Certification
- State of Maine Athletic Training license (must obtain by appointment date)
- Current Professional Rescuer (or equivalent) CPR/AED Certification
- Eligible for American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED Instructor Certification (must be obtained within six months of appointment).
