Apply NowAssist in the medical supervision of student athletes and in monitoring the safety of equipment and procedures. Provide administrative support. Reports to Assistant Athletic Director.
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Assist in the medical supervision of student athletes; provide athletic training coverage for all Intercollegiate Athletics programs; provide treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; refer to medical personnel.
Assist in coordinating annual physical examinations for student athletes; maintain student athletes’ training and medical records.
Assist in selection of protective equipment; maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
Prepare all athletic facilities and supplies for practices and competitions; supervise the use of athletic training rooms and equipment; enforce policies and procedures of athletic training facilities; maintain athletic training room records and filing system.
Assist in the development and implementation of conditioning, weight training, and cardiovascular training programs.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Master's degree in related field and one year of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer -OR- Bachelor’s degree in related field and ten years’ experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer.
Must be able to work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel for away games.
License/Certification:
Certification from Board of Certification (BOC). Ohio Licensed Athletic Trainer or eligibility to obtain Ohio Athletic Trainer License.
Knowledge Of:
Athletic training procedures *
OSHA regulations *
National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) rules and regulations
Mid-American Conference (MAC) rules and regulations
Skill In:
Verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills *
Personal computer applications, including Microsoft Office
Ability To:
Work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends *
Travel to away games on weeknights and weekends, as needed *
Certified Athletic Trainer experience in intercollegiate athletics.Experience with Athletic Trainer System (ATS) computer software.

Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent must be able to work evenings and weekends, and to travel on and off-campus.
