THIS POSITION DOES REQUIRE TRAVEL AND WORK HOURS VARY.JOB SUMMARY:The BMX Athletic Trainer’s normal place of work shall be at BMX’s Headquarters in Tulsa, OK. when the National Team and Olympic Team are training at the Headquarters, although the Athletic Trainer shall also be required to travel to and provide Training Services at any national and international championships, including, but not limited to, the World Championships and the 2024 Olympics. This individual will also travel to meetings and conventions to maintain CEU credit for NATA.The BMX Athletic Trainer is responsible for but not limited to the follow: Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses. Evaluation of athletic injuries. Treatment & Rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Counseling and education of student athletes. Athletic Training Administrative duties to be determined. Assist with the coordination of medical coverage for workouts, practices & home and away games including scheduling of student and graduate assistant athletic trainers. Supervision, education and recruitment of Undergraduate and Masters Level athletic trainers. Work schedule will vary according to practice and event schedules. These can change depending on availability of facilities and weather changes. Athletic events will take place after business hours, on weekends, and on holidays. ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS:Infectious disease, heat, contact with participants such as on the sidelines of a meet and/or practice. Possibility of hot, cold or rainy conditions during athletic events. Noise can also be a factor during athletic events. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift in excess of 100 lbs. Extensive amount of time standing each day.

REQUIRED: -National and international travel is required.-Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Healthcare Administration, Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy or related field of study. -Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Board of Certification and/or American Physical Therapy Association-Prior to hire: Licensed by the state of Oklahoma as a Certified Athletic Trainer -Valid Driver's License -Experience with aquatic rehabilitation-Experience with Manual Therapy TechniquesSKILLS, PROFICIENCES AND KNOWLEDGE:-Strong analytical, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse department, University and community constituencies -Ability to direct and perform confidential detailed work with accuracy under deadline pressure -Extensive knowledge of OSHA guidelines and universal precautions. -Extensive amount of time standing per day and a willingness to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. -Must be able to deal with heat and changing weather precautions and ability to direct personnel in case of severe weather -Ability to manage and direct multiple personnel and tasks at one time -Experience and knowledge of organizing strength programs, especially for injured student athletes -Working knowledge of basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database functionPREFERRED:-Master's degree in Exercise Science, Healthcare Administration, Health/Physical Education, Sports Medicine/Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy or related field of study. -Post Graduate Athletic Training Experience-At least 2 years of Athletic Training Experience. -Experience working with Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist -Certification by NASM as PES/or CES.,PT
