The University of Arizona, Campus Health Service (CHS), in collaboration with the Campus Recreation Center (Campus Rec), is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Athletic Trainer. This position will be responsible for providing for the prevention and care of athletic related injuries for all club sports. This position reports to both the Coordinator for Sports Medicine at Campus Health Service (CHS), the Assistant Director of Sport Programs at Campus Recreation and the Adaptive Athletics Director. The CHS was the first fully accredited college health service in the nation and in the Princeton Review, the CHS has been ranked in the top 4% for Best Health Services for the past eight years. Prevention and care of athletic related injuries for all Campus Recreation Club Sports, and Adaptive Athletics.Maintain knowledge of and observe pertinent OSHA regulations to minimize the risk of transmission of bloodborne pathogens.Plan, coordinate and supervise all components of the athletic training program for ClubSports teams while working under the direction of the UA Campus Health team physicians. This includes prevention, evaluation and emergency treatment of injuries and an injury and illness prevention program.Follow standard of care and professional, ethical, and legal guidelines regarding use of therapeutic agents for treatment and rehabilitation of injured student athletes and participants.Attend practice sessions and athletic contests/tournaments/camps as assigned by the Adaptive Athletics Director.Establish and maintain effective communication with UA Club Sports coaches, members of their teams and other staff as necessary which includes accurate and up to date injury records and treatments.Refer all injuries to UA Campus Health provider staff for follow up care, follow up evaluation and follow up treatment plans as indicated.Coordinate educational opportunities for Club Sports and Adaptive Athletics teams and staff.Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Sport Programs, Adaptive Athletics Director and Coordinator for Sports Medicine at Campus Health Service.Maintain CME education, license, and credentialing to practice as an athletic trainer in Arizona, Arizona Board of Athletic Training.Other duties assigned
Bachelor’s degree in athletic trainingMinimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Certified CPR-PR/AEDN.A.T.A. CertifiedArizona Athletic Training licensed OR eligible to obtain licensure by date of hire.
Master’s degree in athletic training. 1 year post graduate experience Certified CPR-PR and AED instructor/trainer CPR-PR Train a Trainer Program Teaching experience Experience covering club sports, e.g., ice hockey, rugby, lacrosse Experience covering Adaptive Athletics
