UC Merced Recreation and Athletics is charged with providing a dynamic and competitive overall experience for students on the UC Merced campus. The Athletic Trainer supports this mission by providing preventative injury care and by providing practice, game, and event care to intercollegiate student athletes. The Athletic Trainer must have a very clear understanding of the following areas of emphasis: injury care and prevention for athletes, risk management, and customer service. This position reports directly to the Head Athletic Trainer. Uses moderately complex athletic training concepts. Applies campus policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Provides moderately complex prevention and treatment of athletic injuries. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of and compliance with NCAA, conference, and athletic department rules and regulations related to student-athlete eligibility within the scope of assigned duties.
