The Athletic Trainer-Temporary is responsible for providing athletic training services to assigned
UIW
athletics programs and teams. The Athletic Trainer-Temporary reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director/Student Well Being.
This is a temporary position with an expected end date of 05/31/2025.
This position is not benefits eligible.

Coordinate and deliver athletic training services to various athletes at an NCAA Division I institution including, but not limited to:

- Supervise pre-assigned athletic training students in the practice of proficiencies and competencies as outlined by the Curriculum Director of Athletic Training Education.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Submit injured athlete status reports to coaches prior to practices and competitions.
- Maintain computerized injury, treatment, incident, insurance, and medication forms and/or databases according to the guidelines in the Policy and Procedure Manual.

Qualifications
| Knowledge Skills and Abilities |
- Exhibit behaviors in strict compliance with the NATA Code of Professional Practice.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

| Required Education |
- Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training.
- Graduation from an accredited Athletic Training program.
|
| Required Work Experience |
- Two (2) years of clinical experience if holding a Master’s Degree. Note that Master’s Degree by date of assignment will be considered. OR
- Two (2) years of professional experience if holding a Bachelor’s Degree.

| Preferred Qualifications |
Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or affiliated field.
|
| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
- BOC Certified, Texas licensure or eligible.
- Must have a valid drivers license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.

Typical hours Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility, based on schedule of assigned sport. Note that hours will include some nights and weekends as appropriate.

- Requires lifting of heavy objects including people, and dexterity;
- Exposure to extreme weather.
