Auburn Athletics is excited to begin the search for an Athletic Turf Manager!
This individual is responsible for managing and executing turfgrass maintenance on Pat Dye Field to ensure optimal playing conditions. This role involves scheduling and executing maintenance activities, supervising and training staff, coordinating daily operations, managing equipment and supplies, preparing the field for events, and maintaining detailed records. The manager also analyzes weather conditions to optimize scheduling, evaluates staff performance, and maintains the athletic fields and landscaping around athletic facilities. The position ensures the highest standards of turfgrass quality and field readiness, contributing to the overall success of athletic events and facility upkeep.

Formulate, schedule, and perform all necessary turfgrass maintenance practices on Pat Dye Field to ensure optimal playing conditions.
Supervise and manage all turfgrass maintenance staff, both full-time and part-time, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Ensure compliance with all applicable
NCAA
and
SEC
rules and regulations in the performance of job duties. Train and supervise staff to adhere to these rules and regulations.
Supervise and assist with the application of pesticides and fertilizers on all athletic fields and landscapes, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Coordinate and oversee daily operations related to turfgrass maintenance, ensuring the highest standards of care and maintenance.
Ensure all maintenance equipment is properly used, maintained, and stored, and oversee the procurement of necessary supplies and materials.
Prepare and maintain the field for all events, ensuring it meets the required standards for performance and safety.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, applications, and staff schedules to ensure accountability and track progress.
Analyze weather forecasts to schedule routine maintenance and make rain delay decisions.
Train, evaluate, and make or recommend pay, promotion, or other employment decisions for all staff members.

- Bachelor’s degree in Turf Management or related field
- 3 years of experience in athletic field maintenance and/or preparation.
